 Verbs

​

Absent : not present

He is absent from class. وہ کلاس سے غیر حاضر ہے۔

Abuse : to say bad words

He abused me.  اس نے میرے ساتھ زیادتی کی۔

Allow : to give permission

My mother allowed me to go to Australia.  میری ماں نے مجھے آسٹریلیا جانے کی اجازت دی۔

Admire : to say good words about someone

My teacher admired me.  میرے استاد نے میری تعریف کی۔

Appear :

Our Imam will appear soon.  ہمارے امام جلد ظاہر ہوں گے۔

Arrest : to lock someone

The thief has been arrested since yesterday.  چور کل سے گرفتار ہے۔

Attack :

The lion attacks the deer.  شیر ہرن پر حملہ کرتا ہے۔

Attempt : try to

The thief attempted murder.  چور نے قتل کی کوشش کی۔

Bake : to cook something

I am baking pizza today.  میں آج پیزا بنا رہا ہوں۔

 

Beg : to ask for help

I am begging you a favour.   میں آپ سے ایک احسان مانگ رہا ہوں۔

Behave :

He is not behaving rudely to me.  وہ میرے ساتھ بدتمیزی نہیں کر رہا۔

Borrow : to ask something

Can I borrow your pen?  کیا میں آپ کا قلم ادھار پر لے سکتا ہوں

Cause : reason

He is not the cause of my problems.   وہ میری مشکلات کا سبب نہیں ہے۔

Claim :

He claimed himself a general.    اس نے اپنے آپ کو جنرل کا دعویٰ کیا۔

Dare :

You do not dare to proceed.  آپ کو آگے بڑھنے کی ہمت نہیں ہے۔

Deceive :

Please, don’t deceive others.  براہ کرم ، دوسروں کو دھوکہ نہ دیں۔

Declare :

Pakistan never declared war against India.  پاکستان نے کبھی بھارت کے خلاف اعلان جنگ نہیں کیا۔

Depend

Please, do not depend upon others.   براہ کرم ، دوسروں پر انحصار نہ کریں۔

Please, do not depend on others.

 

Describe : to mention

Please, describe yourself.   براہ کرم ، اپنی وضاحت کریں۔

Dream :

I am dreaming of this for a long time.   میں ایک عرصے سے یہ خواب دیکھ رہا ہوں۔

Hire :

The company has hired me for this project.  کمپنی نے مجھے اس پروجیکٹ کے لیے رکھا ہے۔

Migrate :

I have migrated to the USA.  میں امریکہ ہجرت کر چکا ہوں۔

Obey

I will obey you.    میں تمہاری بات مانوں گا۔

Permit : to give permission

I have got a work permit.   مجھے ورک پرمٹ مل گیا ہے۔

Prohibit

This area is prohibited.   یہ علاقہ ممنوع ہے۔

  

Rob

Please, do not rob others because it is a criminal act. 

 برائے مہربانی دوسروں کو نہ لوٹیں کیونکہ یہ ایک مجرمانہ فعل ہے۔

Rescue

Please, rescue me.   برائے مہربانی مجھے بچاؤ۔

Achieve : to get

I have achieved my goals.   میں نے اپنے مقاصد حاصل کر لیے ہیں۔

Astonish : to be surprised

This news astonished me.   اس خبر نے مجھے حیران کردیا۔

Trust : to believe

Please, trust me; I am not your enemy.   

مہربانی کر کے مجھ پر بھروسہ کریں؛ میں تمہارا دشمن نہیں ہوں۔

Shout : talking loud

He shouted at me.  اس نے مجھ پر آواز لگائی۔

Satisfy

I am satisfied with your answer.    میں آپ کے جواب سے مطمئن ہوں۔

       Scream

I am screaming at you, and you are not listening to me. 

 میں تم پر چیخ رہا ہوں ، اور تم میری بات نہیں سن رہے۔ قے

Vomit 

He vomited in the taxi.   اس نے ٹیکسی میں قے کی۔

Vote

We are voting for a change in the country.    ہم ملک میں تبدیلی کے لیے ووٹ دے رہے ہیں۔

Wander : to walk around

Why is he wandering over here?   وہ یہاں کیوں گھوم رہا ہے؟

Assist : to help

He assisted me through getting a job.   اس نے نوکری حاصل کرنے میں میری مدد کی۔

Apologize : to ask forgiveness

I apologize for any inconvenience.  میں کسی تکلیف کے لیے معذرت خواہ ہوں۔

Afford : to carry the burden

I can afford to go abroad.   میں بیرون ملک جانے کا متحمل ہو سکتا ہوں۔

Commit : accused of

Please, do not commit any crime either you will be jailed.  

برائے مہربانی کوئی جرم نہ کریں ورنہ آپ جیل جائیں گے۔

Comply  : To obey

We should comply with rules and regulations.  ہمیں قواعد و ضوابط پر عمل کرنا چاہیے۔

Concentrate : to focus on

You should concentrate on your job.  آپ کو اپنے کام پر توجہ دینی چاہیے۔

Convict : accused of

He was convicted of a crime.   اسے ایک جرم کا مجرم ٹھہرایا گیا۔

Cope : To deal with

I am coping with my classmates.   میں اپنے ہم جماعتوں کا مقابلہ کر رہا ہوں۔

Dare :

How did you dare to proceed without me?  تم نے میرے بغیر آگے بڑھنے کی ہمت کیسے کی؟

 Decline : to deny

Your credit card has been declined.   آپ کا کریڈٹ کارڈ مسترد کر دیا گیا ہے۔

Dedicate :

I am dedicating this poem to my brother.  میں یہ نظم اپنے بھائی کو وقف کر رہا ہوں۔

Defend : to protect

I can defend myself.   میں اپنا دفاع کر سکتا ہوں۔

Deprive :

We can not deprive poor people of their rights.  

ہم غریب لوگوں کو ان کے حقوق سے محروم نہیں کر سکتے۔

Deserve :

Everyone deserves the best.  ہر ایک بہترین کا مستحق ہے۔

Detain : to stop or engage

I had been detained in the detention centre for six months. 

 میں حراستی مرکز میں چھ ماہ تک نظر بند رہا۔

Handcuff :

The thief was handcuffed.  چور کو ہتھکڑی لگائی گئی تھی۔

 

 Furnish: to provide

The house is furnished with furniture.  گھر فرنیچر سے آراستہ ہے۔

Hesitate :

Please, don’t hesitate to talk with me.  براہ کرم ، مجھ سے بات کرنے میں ہچکچاہٹ نہ کریں۔

Please, do not hesitate to talk to me.

Impose :

He imposes on me to study medicine. وہ مجھ پر ادویات پڑھنے کے لیے مسلط کرتا ہے۔

Inspire :

I am inspired by your work.   میں آپ کے کام سے متاثر ہوں۔

Intended

I intended to go to the USA.  میں نے امریکہ جانے کا ارادہ کیا۔

Invest :

I invested in the food business.  میں نے کھانے کے کاروبار میں سرمایہ کاری کی۔

Irritate : disturbing

Your behaviour is irritating to me.  آپ کا رویہ مجھے پریشان کرتا ہے۔

Misbehave: to act as foolish

You are misbehaving to me.  آپ مجھ سے بدتمیزی کر رہے ہیں۔

Justify: to prove clear

I can justify myself.  میں اپنے آپ کو جواز بنا سکتا ہوں۔

Misguide

I never misguided others.  میں نے کبھی دوسروں کو گمراہ نہیں کیا۔

Modernise :

Now the era has been modernised.  اب زمانہ جدید ہو چکا ہے۔

Mould

You should mould well into best.  آپ کو اچھی طرح سے ڈھالنا چاہیے۔

Lack

I have a lack of information.  میرے پاس معلومات کی کمی ہے۔

Negotiate: to talk about

I can negotiate with you about this matter.  میں آپ سے اس معاملے پر بات چیت کر سکتا ہوں۔         

            Nominate

He is nominated for President.  وہ صدر کے لیے نامزد ہے۔

Owe

You owe me nothing to pay.  تم نے مجھ پر کچھ ادا نہیں کیا۔

Presume :

I presumed you know about him.  میں سمجھا کہ آپ اس کے بارے میں جانتے ہیں۔

Testified :

My identity is testified by the government.  میری شناخت حکومت کی گواہی ہے۔

Blow

The wind is blowing.  ہوا چل رہی ہے۔
